Dosey Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 21, 2026
Dosey is provided by Justin Daludado ("we", "us"). This policy explains how Dosey handles your information and how you can control it. Contact us at justin@justindaludado.com with privacy questions.
Your information in Dosey
Dosey works without an account. Your medication routine, recorded doses, supply tracking and optional profile name are stored locally. The app does not automatically send this information to us or to a developer-operated server. It contains no advertising, tracking, third-party analytics or third-party crash-reporting SDKs. We do not sell your information or use your health information for advertising or marketing.
Depending on the features you use, Dosey stores:
- Medication details: names, dose amounts and strengths, schedules, plan dates and revisions, instructions, notes, personal icons, and archive status.
- Recorded activity: Taken and Skipped entries, additional or as-needed doses, times you record, saved medication details, daily routine snapshots and medication change history.
- Supply tracking: counts, refills, tracking history, units and low-stock alert choices.
- Profile and preferences: your optional name, appearance, note visibility, haptic and reminder settings, and introduction progress.
- Reminder scheduling: local dose references, notification times, follow-up windows, snooze choices and refill-alert scheduling state.
- Apple Health links: references to the Health medications you explicitly link and the information needed to maintain those associations.
This information lets Dosey display and maintain your routine, record activity, calculate descriptive progress and streaks, estimate remaining supplies, and schedule reminders you choose to enable. Your entries and estimates are not a verified medical record.
Optional Apple Health access
On supported devices, you can choose to let Dosey read selected medications and their dose history from Apple Health. Dosey requests access only after you choose to connect or share. You can use Dosey without granting Health access.
Shared information can include medication names and nicknames, form, archive and schedule status, medication identifiers or reference codes, and dose events with their status, reported or scheduled times, amounts and units, where available. Dosey does not request unrelated Health categories such as location, workouts or heart rate.
Dosey uses this information to:
- Let you browse and link the Health medications you choose, and review details when preparing a medication to save in Dosey.
- Show source-labeled Health records alongside your Dosey history.
- Include eligible linked Taken and Skipped records in daily logging progress, calendar summaries, statistics and logging streaks.
- Avoid reminders for matched doses already recorded as Taken or Skipped in Health, based on the information available when Dosey refreshes.
Health access is read-only. Dosey does not add, change or delete records in Apple Health. Automatic Health reads do not create or overwrite Dosey's saved dose logs or reduce your tracked medication stock.
Health dose events are read into memory for display and calculations rather than saved as a separate persistent Health-history cache. Dosey saves the links you choose. If you explicitly review and save a medication prepared from Health information, those medication details become part of your locally stored Dosey routine and change history.
You can remove links in Dosey's Apple Health settings. This stops the unlinked source's history from contributing to linked views and progress; it does not revoke Apple's sharing permission, remove Health records, or remove medication details you previously saved in Dosey. Use Apple Health or your device's privacy settings to change Dosey's Health access. Dosey can only show the records Apple makes available to it.
We do not receive your Health records through Dosey, and we do not use Health information for advertising, marketing, data brokerage or unrelated profiling.
Optional notifications
Reminders use your device's local notification service. Dosey does not use a developer-operated push notification server. Medication reminders, follow-ups and refill alerts require your choices in the app and the necessary system permission.
Medication names and amounts are hidden from alerts by default. You can choose to include medication details. Notifications may appear on your Lock Screen or other displays permitted by your system settings. You can change reminder choices in Dosey and notification permissions in system Settings.
Storage, backups and security
Dosey uses Apple's local storage and permission systems. The protection available depends on your device, operating system and security settings. Dosey does not provide its own account-based backup or cross-device sync service.
Device backup or transfer services that you enable may copy or restore local Dosey information according to their settings and policies. Deleting information in Dosey does not remove older device backups. Apple Health has its own storage, sharing and backup controls, which are separate from Dosey's local records.
Keeping and deleting information
Dosey retains your saved routine, history and preferences until you change or delete them. In Profile → Settings → Delete data, you can review and delete selected categories, including medications, dose history, medication changes, supplies, Health links, profile and preferences, and reminder settings. A small introduction-completion checkpoint remains so deleting routine data does not restart setup.
Deleting a medication alone can leave its captured details in dose history and medication change history. Select those categories too if you want to remove those copies. If you delete dose history while keeping supplies, current supply estimates are saved as new counts so tracking can continue without retaining the deleted dose details. Resetting display preferences does not delete your routine or history.
Deleting Dosey dose history does not delete Apple Health records. Linked Health records may continue to appear until you remove the links or change Health access. Removing links does not change system sharing permissions. Manage any existing backups through the service that created them.
We cannot access or remotely delete the routine stored on your device. The in-app controls let you manage that data directly. Contact us if you need help using them or have a privacy request.
Support and Apple services
If you contact us, we receive the contact information, message and attachments you choose to send. We use that information to answer your request and resolve related support issues. Avoid sending medication or Health records unless needed for your request. Correspondence is handled through the email services used to send and receive it. We keep support correspondence as needed to handle your request and meet applicable legal obligations. Contact us if you would like us to delete correspondence you have sent.
Apple separately operates the App Store, TestFlight, Health, device backups and system diagnostic services under its own terms and privacy policy. Depending on your choices, Apple may make diagnostic reports or feedback you submit available to the developer. Dosey does not automatically attach your medication database or Health history to support messages or feedback.
This policy covers the Dosey app.
Changes and contact
We may update this policy as Dosey changes. The policy will show when it was last updated. We will explain material changes and request any additional permission required before using information for a new purpose.
